No one wears me like you (2021)
With this wine you’ll experience a rare example of an assemblage of grapes from our cellar. For the first time we blended all the Alsacien grapes from one vintage. Not because it was something we’ve had been dreaming of, but because a huge attack of Mildiou reduced the amount of grapes to the lowest we’ve ever seen in Alsace. To make single variety wines, or simply a of two-three different grapes in a blend was simply impossible.
Therefore, we decided to harvest all the parcels we normally harvest, all at the same time and blend everything into the pressoir. This gave us an very interesting juice, with everything from the exuberant flavors of Muscat and Gewürztraminer, the tension and seriousness from the three Pinots and the light joyful fruit of Sylvaner and Chasselas.
We made this assemblage during the harvest of 2021 and believe that the wine now after 3 and a half year of élevage, first 6 months in a fiberglass tank, then in in barrels and now in bottles, are ready to be drunk. As all our barrels, they haven’t been topped up and the wine have therefor developed oxidative notes. (50cl.)
